I’m not in the habit of endorsing products or companies. For a couple of reasons. First, it’s not like people are looking at me as if I’m the Great White Hope to dethrone the Oprah-centric world. Second, I like to think that people should make up their own minds as to how good a product might be. And Third, if you’re gonna buy my endorsement, my price is pretty high (a chalet in the Swiss Alps) and frankly, nobody’s been willing to meet my price (as of yet…I’ll let you know).
That not withstanding, a catalog came across my desk the other day, and I can’t help but to recommend it to you, my loyal readers.
The Vision Forum out of San Antonio puts out a “Family Catalog” that is truly remarkable. Ever look through a catalog and wonder how they could put trashy stuff in it? Not this one. Ever look for a catalog that you felt as if you could hand to both your parents and your kids without having to warn them about inappropriate content? This one won’t leave you worrying. And have you every wished for a catalog that contained a selection of merchandise that you really wanted. You’ve found it.
Here’s a small selection of some of the items in this catalog that intrigue me:
- From Script to Cinema, A Video Curriculum for Aspiring Filmmakers
- A “Boy Detective” line of merchandise for kids who want to expand their imaginations – things like communicator watches, grappling hooks, spy glasses and more.
- Wholesome dolls for girls with clothing like young ladies (as opposed to trollops and poptarts)
- Downloadable audio books (and pre-loaded iPods) with subjects like a History of the World (from a Christian perspective).
It’s exciting to see a catalog that is unashamedly Christian, after having to slog through so many catalogs that are full of touchy-feely, pagan/Wiccan, Earth Mother, secular-progressive nonsense. You can order a catalog for yourself or order merchandise online from http://www.visionforum.com. Highly recommended for this holiday season.
