And I thought I’d let you know about it.
Here’s the deal…I’m always thinking about ways to make the things I use better. I’m also good with my hands, and notoriously cheap, when it comes to buying something I could make myself – especially when I can make something that’s better than what I can buy.
The other day, I was looking for a guitar stand, one that would hold several instruments at once. I didn’t like anything I found at GuitarCenter – too expensive, and cheaply made. I figured I could make something that would cost less and work better. And I was right. Turns out, a bunch of people agreed with me, and want to get me to make them a stand like the one I made for myself. What a novel idea.
I’m in the final stages of launching a website (www.guitarfurniture.com) that will offer the stand I designed as our first product. I won’t make them – no time for that, and I can get them made by a millwork so that they’ll be actually better than what I can do on my own, plus they’ll be less expensive to produce. Soon, we’ll also offer other designs – for single guitars, other fretted instruments, electric piano stands, guitar chairs, straps, and other things that will appeal to professional musicians and anybody with Guitar Acquisition Syndrome.
I’ll let readers of this blog (that would be YOU) know when the site launches. Please chec it out, and let me know what you think.
