Why is anybody taking this guy seriously?
If this country had any cojones left, we’d either put him in a home for the mentally unstable, or we’d be prosecuting him for treason. But noooooo…he marched with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He was a pal of Paul Robeson. He Speaks Out For the Oppressed!
Give me strength. And while you’re at it, gimme a couple of aspirin…
Harry Belafonte is a clown. Since nobody else is willing to say it, I will. He’s a senile clown, stuck in the 60’s, and completely unwilling and unable to see past his OWN prejudices. (Ironic, isn’t it?) Calypso Harry sees everything through his perception of “whitey” as a slave master. (Uh…Mr. Belafonte…can you tell me if there is ANYONE in America now living who was at one time an actual slave? How about any real slave masters? Anybody? Somebody? But I digress…)
The irony of all of this, is Mr. Banana Boat Song goes to South America and proclaims a self-avowed socialist Presidenté as a friend of America (he’s not) and calls our President a terrorist.
Pause with me for a nanosecond.
Am I the only one on the planet to note the dichotomy here? In El Presidenté Chavez’ world, if you criticize him, you’d get beaten, thrown in jail, and/or murdered in cold blood. In America, you’re free to say whatever you want, even if you’re a whack job like Belafonte. Who’s the criminal? In times of war past, Belafonte’s comments would be considered treason, and he would be arrested, tried, and convicted. Keep in mind, you’re free to like or dislike our leaders. But when you step over the line and attempt to influence foreign policy – and make very public statements that are intended to feed Anti-American sentiment in the rest of the world, you’ve just committed treason.
Criminal or clown? You decide. But for God’s sake – get the microphones and cameras away from that idiot, before he does a lot more harm to America than foisting another “Banana Boat Song” on us all.
Give me a Break-O, already!
